Fall Really is the Best Time of Year to Visit the Beach!

October is our favorite month of the year here in the Miramar Beach/Destin area.

There's a tinge of "fall" in the air - cool mornings, bright orange sunsets and pumpkin spice 'everything'.  The crowds have thinned out, and it's a nice break from the hustle and bustle of the summer months. The Gulf water temperature is still close to 80...swimming weather, while other states are digging out their sweaters and boots.

This is when there are lots of events, harvests, outdoor entertainment and Octoberfests.  Be sure to check out The Destin Fishing Rodeo through October 31st, Pumpkinpalooza, Wednesday night concerts at Baytowne Wharf ....and the beginning of Baytowne on Ice (for those that miss the cold and ice, bring your skates and join in the fun on 10/27-2/2/2019).

We can help out with your travel arrangements!  Check our website at www.crystalwatersvacations.com  for a house or condo that will meet your needs or call us at 850-654-4659.  Check our pet friendly properties too!

See you at the Beach

Emerald Coast Theatre Company (ECTC) opens its sixth annual season on the Northwest Florida Gulf Coast with the musical “The Spitfire Grill.”

Based on the film by Lee David Zlotoff, the story of “The Spitfire Grill” centers around Percy a feisty parolee who follows her dreams, based on a page from an old travel book, to a small town in Wisconsin and finds a place for herself working at Hannah's Spitfire Grill. The diner is for sale but there are no takers for the only eatery in the depressed town, so newcomer Percy suggests to Hannah that she raffle it off. Entry fees are one hundred dollars and the best essay on why you want the grill wins. Soon, mail is arriving by the wheelbarrow full and things are definitely cookin' at the Spitfire Grill.

“There is a lot packed into this compelling story of universal truths including the powerful themes of redemption and forgiveness, along with the economic problems of small towns, the plight of Vietnam War veterans, and, to even female empowerment,” said ECTC producing artistic director Nathanael Fisher. “We are excited to open our season with this musical gem performed by a talented cast.”

Performances are Thursday through Saturday at 7:30 p.m. with 2 p.m. matinees on Sundays.  There will be no performance on Saturday, Sept. 29 and an additional performance at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 6. Running time is 90 minutes. Appropriate for ages 13 and older.
