Sales have increased in the Destin & Miramar Beach areas over last year. According to our local MLS, Emerald Coast Association of Realtors, the number of sales have increased in Destin about 40.8% over 2010 and 27.8% in Miramar Beach over last year. These sales include all Residential properties such as homes, condos, town homes, and even residential lots. Sales were up as high as 120% in June over last year! Though the number of sales have increased, prices have dropped in some areas by as much as 12.9% in April 2011 in Miramar Beach over the same period in 2010. Work has begun on the bike/walk path from the county line in front of Kenny D's to about Holiday Road in Walton county on Scenic Gulf Drive. The path was repaved and moved in away from the road for safety reasons. Sod has been placed between the new path and the road. A boardwalk is supposed to be built across the street on the beach side. The public parking lot at Pompano Joes is being reconstructed too. This time the work includes reinforcements with a sea wall and concrete pillars in the sand. Hopefully, all will be completed for Spring Break in March '09!

The beautification project by Walton County along Scenic Gulf Drive has begun and is taking shape! The bike path/side walk has been moved in away from the street and now extends from the county line in front of Kenny D's to about Holiday Rd. Sod is being put down in the area between the sidewalk and road. The public parking lot near Pompano Joes is also being constructed once again! This time, I think they are doing it right! Sea Walls have been installed and what looks to be concrete posts are being driven into the sand for support. It should look good when completed and hopefully last much longer!

This condo met all of our expectations. We have a family of 4 with two small children and we vacationed with another family of 4 as well as my sister and her daughter. The sleeping quarters worked out perfect for us. Each family had their own bedroom and bathroom. The living/kitchen area of the condo is very spacious. Added bonus is the decor, master bath and the well equipped kitchen. The pool is great! The beach access is very conveniently located across the street. The patio has a nice ocean view. Having two small children, I was very happy that we were on the first floor and had a yard for my children to play in, while the adults enjoyed the patio. We felt like we got a top notch vacation at a budget price. Convenient to shopping, dining and entertainment by car. One small complaint, we only received two parking passes and we had three vehicles. Security is very strict about parking. Overall I give this property an A+ and would definitely recommend it to a friend and any family with children of any age.
